When pickle goes to another town or another country, pack it as it leaves our kitchen: full enough that the oil can move over the pieces, lid tight, jar standing. Do not tuck a wet spoon or a cut lemon into the same box. Sweets and podi travel better in their own tins, away from pickle oil.
